Our Carbon FootPrint Matters

One foodie life trip

Travelling, sharing people’s cultures abroad, experimenting changes of scenery and perhaps sense of life, far away from our home base, is often a thrill. We, the lucky ones who can afford such trips, must realize the chance we have to browse the world through a click on our bank accounts. Now the multiplication of long distance flights, using fossil fuel energies, has an impact on our planet. Did you know that an airplane round trip L.A. to Paris for one person was sending out as much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as one African person releases in a whole year ?

An opportunity for a positive action

I have personally decided that I had had my good share of long distance travelling throughout my life and that I shall now focus on nearby destinations.
I am not into guilt at all, but as I will continue to host many international travelers in my cooking classes here in Provence, I have decided to dedicate a small percentage of the fee I charge to a local association in charge of protecting forestry. It is called Canopée – Forêts Vivantes (Canopy – living forests).
Thank you for reading this and also participating in that effort to preserve our planet.
